When something is wrong today
Vomiting, diarrhea, limping, wounds, ear pain, urinary changes, or a pet who suddenly isn’t acting like themselves can be worrying. We evaluate many stable sick or injured dogs and cats during our regular business hours, depending on staffing, case needs, and current availability.
Call before arriving. Our team can discuss your pet’s symptoms, advise on the next step, and determine whether an appointment here or a 24-hour emergency hospital is more appropriate.
Life-threatening emergency? Severe breathing difficulty, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected urinary obstruction, major trauma, or severe heat illness needs immediate veterinary direction. We are not a 24-hour emergency hospital.

Being independently owned gives us the opportunity to focus on each family’s circumstances, discuss recommendations clearly, and build long-term relationships. Dr. Bryan Hayter is the hospital’s owner and medical director, and Dr. Quinn Bauer provides veterinary care for local dogs and cats.
Dr. Bauer is individually Fear Free Certified. When medically appropriate, the team incorporates lower-stress handling, calm communication, and thoughtful pacing into veterinary visits. Same-day urgent evaluation may be available for stable pets during business hours, depending on staffing, existing appointments, and medical need. Call before traveling so our team can discuss your pet’s symptoms. We do not promise reserved walk-in appointments.
No. DFAH is open Monday–Friday, 9 AM–6 PM and does not provide overnight ICU care. Severe distress, collapse, major trauma, or other life-threatening problems may require immediate evaluation at a 24-hour ER. See our urgent-care and ER referral guide.
Dr. Quinn Bauer is an individually Fear Free Certified veterinarian. Our team uses gentle, lower-stress approaches when medically appropriate. We do not present this individual credential as hospital-wide certification.
