Common Surgical Procedures We Perform
We offer both routine and soft tissue surgeries, including:
• Spay and neuter (including pediatric and adult) • Mass and lump removals • Laceration and wound repair • Soft tissue surgery (abscesses, foreign body removal, etc.) • Bladder stone removal • Eye and eyelid procedures • Dental surgery and oral mass removals •
Every surgery is tailored to your pet’s individual needs, age, and health status.
Not every surgical problem begins with a scheduled consultation. Dogs and cats may develop sudden injuries, wounds, abdominal problems, urinary obstruction concerns, swallowed foreign objects, or other conditions that require prompt evaluation.
If your pet develops a sudden illness or injury during our regular clinic hours, call (480) 488-2010 before arriving. Desert Forest Animal Hospital provides same-day urgent veterinary care in Cave Creek for many stable illnesses and injuries when availability allows.
During an urgent visit, our veterinarians can examine your pet and, when medically appropriate, use in-house blood work and diagnostic testing and digital X-rays to help determine whether surgery is needed and how urgently it should be performed.
Some stable surgical conditions may be treated at Desert Forest Animal Hospital during regular business hours. When a patient requires immediate advanced surgery, intensive monitoring, overnight hospitalization, or another level of specialty care, our team can help coordinate referral to an appropriate 24-hour emergency or specialty hospital.
Major trauma, severe difficulty breathing, collapse, uncontrolled bleeding, repeated seizures, or another life-threatening condition may require immediate treatment at a 24-hour emergency hospital.
